Feeling of Memory

A FOCUS on Learning exhibition, curated by Michael Cutts

Works by students from Dharavi Art Room, Muktangan and Bombay International School

For its 2017 edition, the FOCUS on Learning strand of the festival has worked with students at Dharavi Art Room, Muktangan and Bombay International School in Mumbai to explore the festival’s theme of Memory through a series of innovative and interactive workshops. Students were presented with different artworks and styles of photography that use memory as a central thread to develop their own interpretation and lens on the topic. At the heart of these sessions were student-centred discussions on the different ways in which they could choose to interpret memory as a means to create something new and individual.

Each photograph has been taken by a student to examine a personal narrative or viewpoint about a memory or event that creates a strong feeling for them.
