Writer-in-Residence, German Films on Photography & MidFestival Celebration!

Join us to write, watch a film, or to celebrate and enjoy photography exhibitions in the Lower Parel neighbourhood. Scroll down for full details.


2pm – 5pm // Join the Writer in Residence

Throughout the festival, Alisha Sett, curator of An Attic Full of Film, will play the role of writer-in-residence at the exhibition. Visitors are invited to join her for these open sessions to have a conversation about their own family photos, or to come and write in the space.

The film examines the documentary photographer Jürgen Schadeberg’s body of work and bridges the gap between the history of apartheid and the opposition to the institutional racism of the fifties and sixties in South Africa and the uneasy present day in the prosperous country on the Cape of Good Hope.

7.30pm The Photographers Bernd and Hilla Becher
Blast furnaces, winding towers, processing plants – in many places the dilapidated remains of industrial development – live on in the photographs of Bernd and Hilla Becher. The couple from Düsseldorf tell the story of their lives, work and activities, which for four decades were dedicated to photographing industrial facilities.
