United Way NGO Profiling Competition


Give back to the community by engaging with an NGO and win an internship with a respected photographer

As an integral part of its programme, FOCUS has collaborated with its Outreach Partner and charity facilitator, United Way Mumbai (UWM) to create an opportunity for young and emerging photographers to conduct a photo project with the NGOs in the city.

Candidates are required to dedicate one day to document the activities of an assigned NGO.

The submissions will be reviewed by FOCUS and the UWM team. The winner of the contest will get the chance to experience a short term hands-on internship with respected architectural, landscape and travel photographer Bharath Ramamrutham.

About the contest

Step 1
// As a photographer, you would be required to volunteer your time with an NGO that has been assigned to you by United Way Mumbai.
// Please sign up using the form here with your details mentioning your area of interest and experience.
// Once you fill in the form, UWM will contact you for further details of the shoot and the NGO assigned to you.
// Deadline for registration: Sunday, April 2, 2017

Step 2
// You would be then required to dedicate a day of your time to the NGO selected by UWM and capture the NGOs various activities which portraits their efforts and objectives is the best possible manner.
// Your application will be reviewed by United Way Mumbai and FOCUS Photography Team.

Step 3
// The winner of this contest will be announced on social media platforms and websites in the month of April.

Further Details

Eligibility Criteria: 2 years+ experience in practicing photography

Guidelines for submitting digital images: Please submit not more than 15 low resolution images via a wetransfer link to info@focusfestivalmumbai.com

Winner determination: To be announced on Thursday, April 6 on the FOCUS website and social channels (Facebook and Instagram). Additionally, the best photographs will be showcased on the festival website.
