Ben Kyneswood is a lecturer in Sociology at Coventry University and Photo Miner. His work explores how exhibitions of photography of people and place can generate community narratives that challenge dominant stereotypes by opening a doorway into intimate lives and spaces. Photo Miners most recent exhibition Masterji (currently on view at Akara Art as part of FOCUS, will be seen in the UK, India and America in 2017.

Blast furnaces, winding towers, processing plants – in many places the dilapidated remains of industrial development – live on in the photographs of Bernd and Hilla Becher.
